Newtown Police outgunned by Lanza

I'd just like to see evidence that assault weapons are the culprit and as heavily used as claimed.  Regardless of political party alignment, this tragic incident and the death of school children has been used to fuel all efforts to ban "assault weapons".   And if an assault weapon wasn't used in this incident it should cause all of us to question the intent and methods used to push for the ban on assault weapons.

This entire incident has been the center piece of the efforts to further ban/restrict the sale/ownership of assault weapons, yet there's evidence surfacing that indicates such a weapon was not used in the murder of these children/teachers.
