Wouldn't that mean he has to rename every folder at the lowest level, and if the folder structure he wants means that some photos have to be moved out of one folder into another it would take a lot of fiddling when a complete move on reimport to a new catalogue would get LR to do the heavy lifting.
Just a thought.
