Leica has never designed lenses for Panny cameras. All Panny cameras (including compacts) that are labeled Leica are Panny designed and implemented lenses.
If the PanLeica 25mm was made by Sigma, that would only be the manufacturing side as the design would still be Panny (else Leica would never agree to let Panny use the Leica label.)

Just compare the optical diagrams of the PL25 on the micro four thirds website with the diagram in Sigma's patent filed prior to the release of the lens. They are the same.
If sigma didn't have anything to do with the optical design why would panasonic not step in to do something about this blatant patent rip-off?
hehe, seems I'm a bit slow as I just responded to your question. Basically, as the patents are the same, there has to be some thing going on between the two companies though how that is possible I don't know unless one copied the other illegally which makes no sense.
