Another happy D90 user here. I agree with previous posts that slightly poorer high ISO performance is the main thing that would distinguish it from the D7000. I am also put off by the focus etc problems of the D7000, and found the D7000 much less comfortable in my hands than the D90.
As others have said, the D90 has not been discontinued yet (it's still on Nikon Europe website). Prices are low at the moment (I'm tempted to get a second one!) because it is likely to be discontinued fairly soon, but the warranty will not be voided because of that.
