Hi All,

I am trying to decide a purchase of OM-D with Panasonic 7-14. I read several articles on various forum about the problem with purple flare (Not Chromatic aberration). How bad is it in real world situation? Anyone with this combo can shed me some light!!! Thanks.

I thought this recent thread about purple flare with the 9-18 on the E-M5 might be of interest for the discussion here as well. As eventually concluded already in this old, long thread about purple flare with the 7-14 on the E-M5, flare from just about any lens has a tendency to go purple on the E-M5 (as well as some other cameras) while staying neutrally colored (and therefore far less visible) with certain other MFT cameras.

The difference between UWAs and most other lenses is that they are generally more prone to flare than other lenses. Hence, the problem is more likely to become of practical importance with these lenses than with others. Apparently, this is true not only for the 7-14 but also for the 9-18.

Will be interesting to see 7-14 on GH3.
