Do Manfrotto and Gitzo ball heads share the same

I know that. Neither plate fits into Arca type heads, or neither head accept Arca type plates.

The question is: do they fit into each other? (I know the locking is different, but that has little to do with plates, right?  Gitzo heads have arca type of locking, Manfrotto has click locking)
