150-200 bucks, hmm, if you can pick up a DA 16-45 for that amount count your blessings and don't think twice! That said, the WR kit lens ain't too bad concidering cost and as a starter you'll be hard pushed to find better, especially if bought with the body.

Maybe, its better to invest in a tripod with the money left over rather than plumbing for a more expensive lens given your budget? That'll allow you to use F8, around the lens's optimum aperture, which is about as good as it gets for anything out there.

If its a quest for more lens for your buck then there are the 18-200ish tele zooms from Sigma/ Tamron which actually are great travel buddies if not a bit soft. Going wide angle is expensive and really you won't beat the 16-45 on value and you DO notice the 16mm compared to 18mmm!
