I thought I would come back & mention the outcome in case anyone else is considering this.
As you can see the result is very good. The JYC screen cost about $8. As the video above mentioned, the old film is very easy to remove. Just do it with care & its a 5 min job.
One problem is though, because the new screen is glass, its actually more prone to damage - you can already see in the top-left corner, a piece of glass chipped off. This happened a day or two later. The camera was in my wifes handbag as I had taken it out one evening with us - i guess a small bump had caused it to chip.
However; its cheap, easy to do & the result is like new.
