Shooting sportat 250mm in bright sunlight I can go up to 1000th second easily. At this speed the stabiliser is not doing anything as I understand it and general advice is to switch off stabilisation. However it does make looking trough the viewfinder a lot easier to leave it on so does it harm IQ to leave it on when it could be turned off?

Nikon 1 series - It's not the size of your sensor, it's what you do with it that counts
1000D - S100 - XZ1 - V1
The only time I turn off the i.s. is when the camera is on a tripod.
