D800 focus with 1.4 prime lenses is very variable and inaccurate

I believe mine is doing that too. I think it front focuses more than it back focuses but it does change, making AF fine tune useless.

Both my 5DM3 and D800 focus differently in tungsten vs full-spectrum lighting, but both focus differently in consistent ways (ie, different AF tune value for a particular lighting temperature but once that value is dialed in the AF is consistent).
