It's about access to m4/3 lenses.

Apart from "Kodak" these are well established companies operating in specialist niches who are currently using old mounts (e.g. C or M42).

By going to m4/3 they can access lenses (of roughly similar size to what they are currently using)  with modern electronic control features.

Don't forget that the m4/3 standard supports power zoom. It's already in the Oly 12-50, Pany 14-42X and Pany 45-175X.

Industrial cameras are usually in inaccessible places with remote control. The ability to control the aperture, focus AND zoom from a distance is a sellable feature.

They will probably just put a m4/3 mount in front of their existing sensors and only use the central portion of the m4/3 image circle.
