Help, new to SLR

That is quite a long focus lens, good for wildlife and sports but you do need to keep the shutter speed high, at least 1/1600 sec and preferably 1/2500 sec.. I would be prepared to set the lens aperture wide open F4 to F5.6 and push the ISO up to between 320 and 1600 to get the high shutter speed. You probably also need to set the camera to single point focus.
