Variations on a theme

Sometimes I look at a picture and decide that I like that picture. Then I try and work out why I like it. It's a very difficult thing to do. Photography is about not just looking, but seeing also. I took a picture that I liked. But I also thought that variations on the original might be fun. So here goes, these are all from the basic shot.

The peir is in Colwyn bay, north Wales. It has been allowed to fall into disrepair, and eventually will be demolished. Hence the "Ode to the pier"
