Online organisation/sharing/gallery sites?

Hi all,

Flickr? Tumblr? 500px? Google+? Etc?

At some point, I'd like to find time to sort through my many thousands of images, and put the ones I'm most proud of onto a website that'll make them easy for friends to see. I don't know anything about any of the options, apart from some cautionary tales that others have told about Facebook's dodgy permissions policies. Do you have a preferred site? Or any advice about pros/cons/pitfalls?
