I'm sorry to hear your D800 doesnt work well with 1.4. Personally i never have issues. I dont use 1.4 much either mind you. In my professional enviroment i feel this DSLR deliver's and i can trust it.

Neither do I. My Canon trials have shown only that the newer aps-c and low-end FF bodies are perhaps better than their previous models, somewhat, but not better than the equivalent Nikon models. However I've not tried the 1dX.
