Great Blue Herons in winter with D800 + 300 f/2.8 VR II + TC20-E III

The other morning, braving the low temperature (-6° C. / 21° F.), I went for a walk on Geneva's lakeside ! I know an area where GBH use to stay, but I didn't know if they would still be here now... Surprise, there were 80 or 10 of them up in the trees and flying around !

Here's a few shots taken with the [B]D800 and 300 f/2.8 VR II plus TC20-E III[/B] ! As usual, I'm extremely happy with the quality and sharpness of this combo ! I shot on tripod, with VR OFF and AUTO ISO and the aperture was FULLY OPEN = f/5.6 !!!

Unfortunately I didn't manage to shoot any of them "in flight", as they were flying within the branches, hence impossible to follow them and get a "clean" image !

The EXIF datas are embedded in each image.

...anyway, I tremendously enjoyed my morning, despite my frozen feet and fingers :redface: !
