Canon 7D Noise in high ISO

Hi Raj,

It's my understanding that the 550D, 600D, 650D, 60D and 7D all use the same sensor - but it is newer than the 500D.

If you're just looking for better low light quality, you may not need to spend more money on a 7D, as the 'lower' models have the same sensor - and thus the same sensor performance. (Obviously if you're looking for additional features that the 7D offers such as FPS, bigger viewfinder, etc, then that's a different story - but if you're thinking of upgrading solely based on sensor - you may not need to jump as far).

I don't have a 7D, but I do own a 550D - and I do believe that 1600 is usable for prints. (Best to keep at 800 or below), but I believe there is an improvement from the 500D.
