I call it flare. Which is any light that shows up in your image that you didn't see with your own eyes.

It's a pretty common effect with fast lenses to see a glow or haze around bright spots in the image. I think it's caused by a tiny amount of light scattering around, which becomes noticeable when there is extreme contrast.

If you stop down enough, you may see the halos replaced by a star pattern equal to the number of aperture blades.
