Is there a way to tell the camera to focus on a specific subject in iA mode? I don't seem to be able to do that.

For example, I have subjects in different focal planes. How do I tell the NEX-F3 to focus on a particular subject (not necessary in the middle of frame) so the others are out of focus?

Thanks in advance for any valuable input.

In iAuto mode, you have no control over other parameters such as Aperture, Focus, speed, etc.

If you do focus you need to revert the camera back to Aperture mode(A), set A to lowest value and focus on the intented person, other subjects will be out of focus if your aperture value is low enough.
