I have pulled out my 14 year old Novatron 240 lights to practice studio lighting. Before investing in pocket wizards and more up to date strobes I want to play with what I have with minimal investment. So I bought a micro sync II for remote triggering. It is firing the test strobes with no trouble but when I release shutter to take a picture they don't fire. Any ideas why? Menu setup perhaps? I'm sure it's something quite obvious that I am missing. Help, input is appreciated!

Is your remote unit pushed all the way into the hot shoe? I use an Elinchrom that goes in the hot shoe and it's fairly sensitive to how far it's pushed in; I have had to wiggle it a couple of times before it connected properly and fired the flashes with the shutter.
