Healey Dell & The West Pennine Moors

Went for a hike today with a pal & the NEX-6, over the snow covered moors, starting at an old 19 century industrial area known as Healey Dell, just North of Rochdale.
Whilst there was certainly no blizzard, there was some sleet & the wind was whipping up the snow hard & fast off the ground so as to make photography difficult - the camera was struggling to focus & my hands (net of gloves) were £$%^&* freezing!
Nevertheless managed to capture a handfull of what I considered worthwhile shots & the Dell area itself was interesting & full of photo opportunities:
Abandoned Cottage up on the moors
Windmills on the skyline
A Town on the Hill
19 C Stone Bridges
Solitary Chimney
River Spodden
Healey Dell Railway Viaduct (with stalactites)
All told a very enjoyable 3 hours walk over snowy, icy & frozen boggy ground. Enjoyed a well deserved cuppa at the end of it.

Thnaks for looking
