Thanks for the suggestions on the grey card. I didn't think of trying that with the filters on.

Make sure the grey side is color calibrated (some aren't). Or use the white side (test beforehand for accuracy). I keep a folded piece of paper in my pocket for WB. Keep in mind that not all whites are "white." You'll have to experiment a little to get the right one.

Actually the original shots were in raw, so I thought I would be able to deal with any white balance issues after the fact. I think the real difficulty was from stacking 3 different Cokin GND filters, then trying to adjust the white balance for the different tones in different areas of the photos. The combination of stacked filters I used proved much more difficult to correct than I anticipated. Further experimentation led me to use only one of this set of filters whenever possible and no more than two at a time. I do not have this issue when stacking 3 of the Hoya ND filters I'm currently using.
