I bought the new Sony DSC-RX100 P&S 3 months ago, and now I NEVER leave home without it.

I almost always leave all my heavy DSLRs + lens at home now. Can't believe I was traveling, hicking and sweating with all those heavy lens and equipment for years! I remember one day on a trip in Africa. It was like 45 Celsius out there, and bringing all my heavy equipemnt was such a pain! I was sweating like crazy!

The new RX100 is a marvel. I travel alot with my family, and this P&S is always in my pocket now. The big and heavy equipment stays at home.

The RX100 can easily go head-to-head with every entry-level and medium priced DSLRs on the market. I'm impressed each time I used it.

I still have my DSLRs and costly lens at home for some special occasions when I need them (not often...).

But now I understand why they say that the greatest camera of all is the one you have with you.
