Thanks to all for the feedback. So far, I'm leaving AF alone. I think it's makes most sense to fine tune adjust with prime lenses. However I'm concerned that if I tinker on a zoom lens at one focal length that I may make matters worse at a different focal length. BTW, I have been using AF-S and I don't believe I have the left focus issue. I think part of the issue is the unrealistic expectation on such as camera that every shot is going to be a winner if one's technique is optimal. I find it interesting when looking at the graphs on FoCal Pro how varied things can be from shot to shot.
