Camera testing w/o a studio or equipment
Jan 20, 2013

In another thread leading to my purchase of a K-30 and lenses, one of my mentors suggesteed that I "Make sure you do some auto-focus tesing when you get it."

First thing that came to mind was maybe taking a picture of a person standing next to an oblique feature (like a picket fence) with as narrow as possible depth of field ...

But the wider question, I suppose, is this: is there a specific series of tests you do with new cameras and lenses, and favorite technigues you use to set up test shots without needing more than the camera itself and maybe a copy or photoshop elements?

(and greetings from Kehdi, my retired feral cat)
