BTW - even in the film days there was problems.

The lpm value measured for film assumed long lines. The grain was random, so short lines were almost impossible to see, the resolution only materialised itself if you have lots of random dots to trick your brain into seeing a line.

It would be nice to see what could be done with sensors with pixels in a random pattern.
