The X-series Bridge Concept Doesn't Have to Die

With the announced specs of the HS-50, there is a consensus building that there will not be an XS-2. That is understandable, but it doesn't have to be that way. When I think of today's superzooms, I think of the movie "Spaceballs" where Dark Helmet says, "Light speed's too slow! Go to... LUDICROUS SPEED!" At ludicrous speed, the ship went so fast that it overshot the ship it was pursuing.
To make a superzoom worthy of the X, Fuji should leave ultimate reach to the HS series. They had the right idea with the XS-1, but 624mm is still too much to ask of a 2/3 sensor. Drop the telephoto end to no more than 400mm, and increase the sensor size to at least 1". Let the X mark belong to ultimate picture taking machines.
