Compositional discussion is just as relevant here as it is anywhere else, so why not ?

Getting back to composition. I find it is like music, don't have a clue what it is, but like it or don't like it. Trying to analyze what makes a particular composition good, so that it can be repeated whenever you want, doesn't often work. The particular elements in the picture along with the light at that time are what appeal. Trying to reproduce them in another context just doesn't look the same.

Also so much is in the eye of the beholder.

There is a scene through a window as I sit at my computer in the morning, with beautiful soft light coming through the trees with creeper hanging down in the foreground. Try as much as I can, it doesn't look as good in a photo. For me a photo serves as a reminder, but lessens the scene.
