Trigger a 430 Speedlite (film) with 430EX Flash

Hi, Trying to mix simple optical triggering alongside propreitary (Canon Wireless Light/IR type) optical triggering is rarely worth the effort.

Simple M only RF triggers are so cheap & so good ...

Concerning Ex set as 'Slaves': if they are operating under ETTL, then they still 'pre-flash' (it's a metering pre-flash). Ex units set to slave but operating in M do not pre-flash. But ... if they are operating in M within a Canon Wireless network, then the master/controller device still pre-flashes (ie. a 60D 'Flash Mode' to Manual, Wireless enabled) - hence your snoot comment.

2 yrs ago Yn RF-602s were the choice simple M RF triggers - now I'd look at the Commlite T320s.
