Here is another Samyang shot using central metering vs multi metering. Looks better. Seems my friends theory that the large angle of view may not be compatible with a multi-metering situation where the camera is trying to integrate so many factors.
I'll have to follow up. Seems like a combination of problems. The difference in the design of the 5n vs the 7, the metering issue and of course the lens construction. The Samyang seems significantly more flare prone than the 3.5 Rokinor. Disappointing to me be because I am often prone to turn my camera into the sun for the drama of back lighting.
