Re: I have 1.8G 1.4G and 1.8D

Have owned them all, including the Sigma 50 1.4.

When it comes to sharpness, rendering and Bokeh, the Sigma was always the best lens, but the size is crazy!

The new 1.4G and 1.8G look very much the same 90% of the time. I found the 1.4 "kinder" to portraits/people work and the 1.8G  more dimensional for shooting a street scene. Stopped down NO ONE could reliably tell them apart.

I kept the 1.8G because the 1.4 was a tad soft compared to the Sigma, so rather pointless to own.

ALL are very competent designs and you really can't go wrong by picking one or the other.

Cheers,

Robert
