I have both a D700 and D800. Fortunately when I got the D800 I was able to keep the 700. I love them both. I have taken a lot more excellent photos with the 700 but that's only because I've had it much longer. There is not doubt in my mind that the 800 is better for large prints and image detail. I find the ability to crop an 800 image greatly and still get a good photo is one of its greatest attributes. Still glad I have both bodies, but if I could only keep one, it would be the D800.
