Nikon AF DC-Nikkor 105mm or 135mm 1:2 D for Nikon D800?

I have just received the 105mm and 135mm Nikon DC lenses and compared them side-by-side with some test shots on my D800. I noticed the the 105mm is noticeably sharper in the center and at the border at f/2 than the 135mm. The contrast of the 105mm wide open is also better than the 135mm. Even at f/2.8 the 105mm beats the 135mm hands down.

I have AF fine tuned both lenses to the optimum setting for f/2. Still the 135mm seems not as sharp as the 105mm. Could this be sample variation of the 135mm or is the 105mm generally quite a bit sharper than the 135mm? Is it worth trying to get another sample of the 135mm?

I would generally prefer the 135mm focal length, but not if the IQ is significantly poorer than that of the 105mm. AF speed is fine for my needs.

I would appreciate if people who have used one or both DC lenses on a D800(E) could share their impressions.
