How many of us have they lost to the OMD or Fuji X?
Not me. I had a Fuji camera way back when, which was also the expensive talk of the town and everybody raved about it too (even designed by Porsche).
I think I took maybe less than 100 photos with it in total in two years. The GRD III alone surpassed that in its first 2 minutes.
I'm with Harold on jumping off the Fuji bandwagon after owning one. It's that unquantifiable element - Ricoh cameras are just more intuitive and enjoyable to use for me personally, make me want to use them. I felt no such thing with the Fuji.
Just like everyone else I've also looked at the OMD seriously because it's packed with loads of excelllent features, like the Sony RX100 I bought. But again, same deal, I'm just not using RX100 unless I have to. I've picked up my GXR with its sticky loosening grip more often than the new RX100 since I've gotten it. Not because it takes better pictures, but because it's better to use. For me. The Sony just isn't as enjoyable to use, feels clumsy and unintuitive in my hands, despite its great build and images and high resolution etc. I'm not enjoying the user experience as much as I know I could after using a Ricoh. And I get the feeling I'll feel the same way about the OMD.
Not to say other people wouldn't thrive using a Fuji or an OMD. It's actually guaranteed as I've seen some great pics done with them. We're all different.
