How can I expand to more of a studio setup for low $$?

All I have right now is my camera/lenses and an external flash (Canon 430EX II).

I was thinking of getting maybe a backdrop, like white, or something? Something that is cheap but that I can take to different locations to set up on maybe someone's walls or stands?

Also is there some studio lighting I should look into?
