FZ200 - moving objects

Hi
I went to the store to check the FZ200 after reading some many good reviews about it, mainly about those 2.8 across lenses, I tried it and I liked the feel and burst modes, but something I kept trying (along with the store clerk who was pretty helpful), was just to take pictures of people who were passing by walking, most of them rushing somewhere as it was at the end of the lunch time, and I couldn't get a single one without being blurry, even if I was trying to get the picture with the shutter pre-holded, am I missing something, or just ultra-zoomers like the FZ200 are not for this type of photography?
