What may be faster in relatively low , based on what dpreview wrote in the CES:

Fuji x100s AF:
even in the relatively low light of a CES meeting room, ( the AF ) works very well and delivers noticeably faster and more positive focus (quickly moving into focus with minor or unnoticeable jitter) than we're used to from the X100.

Samsung NX300 AF:
Even in the relatively low light of a CES meeting room, focus with the 85mm F1.4 was fast and positive, with almost no 'jitter' - certainly a clear improvement on the solely contrast-detection system in earlier NX bodies and many competitive mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras.

I am a 4/3 user but may add one of the two APS cameras. A major decision factor is the AF speed

The 85mm f/1.4 is probably the second slowest focusing lens for Samsung NX (Samsung 60mm f/2.8 Macro gets that award). So if it is fast with the 85mm that is a good sign it will be even faster with other lenses. It isn't that the 85mm f/1.4 is slow focusing either, it just has a much longer focus throw due to the large f/1.4 aperture and to keep the focus very precise.

I like both Fuji and Samsung cameras. I am looking forward to what the Samsung NX20 replacement will be. As it is I have an NX20 and XP1, and the XP1 is terrible for focus speed, the NX20 is a lot faster. If the NX300 is a step above the NX20 that would be wonderful.

Viking ,are you sold by the fuji color & tone?I just love the rich look to these files but continue to get put off by reports of crappy focus and of course system is still limited, your thoughts would be appreciated, cheers.

I shoot RAW, so colors are however I happen to set the sliders in Lightroom.

That being said, I do like Fuji out of camera JPEGs, but I also like Samsung color generally too.  JPEG color is a very personal choice.

As for Fuji AF, it is fine for most, but can be slow in lower light with the 35mm f/1.4, which has a very long focus throw. It is maybe comparable to the NEX system with a similar lens (I haven't used the new 35mm f/1.8, but the 50mm f/1.8 is slow focusing). The fuji is much faster focusing with the 18-55mm kit zoom as I understand it.
