I finally got around to ordering an Olympus EM5 and 12-50mm lens today. I chose the 12-50mm over the 14-42 purely for the video function of the lens and from what I read a decent macro facility. Also the combination is splash resistant, seemed like the most logical deal to me.
I've decided my starting primes will be.
Panasonic 14mm f2.5
Sigma 30mm f2.8
Olympus 45mm f1.8
That'll give me the equivelant of a 28mm, 60mm and 90mm prime selection, pretty decent for my shooting style.
I aim in the future to get the Zuiko 12mm f2 and Zuiko 75mm f1.8. I got the 14mm f2.5 as part of a deal on a refurbished Panasonic GF3 so once I get the zuiko 12mm, I'll either keep the 14mm on the Gf3 or sell it.
I've read reviews on all 3 primes and they seem to get a pretty decent review especially the 45mm f1.8. I know the 45mm is a cracking lens.
Any views on the 14mm and 30mm, I'd appreciate your views. I was tempted to get the 19mm Sigma as well as it's only £106 from Wex photography at the moment but feel that I'd be maybe buying it for the sake of buying and I'd rather put the £106 towards the 12mm or 75mm.
Cheers,
Howie
