Well, a linux server can do all those things... but running one has quite a learning curve. Do you have enough crap with WinServer to make the decision to learn linux from scratch? And i mean REALLY learn linux, command line style...
If you do, I would recommend an 'easy' preconfigured distro like Ubuntu Server. There are many tutorials for that also.
