Thanks for the thoughts.
RAW for me is an essential. I forgot to mention it, probably because since the Panny G5, GH3, and the OM-D have it already, I just assumed that the G7 and GH4 would also.
He's talking about raw video output. The GH3 of course has raw still output as does every other m43 camera. No DLSR-type camera currently has raw video output. You have to pay more than double the price of the GH3 to get that (Blackmagic cinema camera) - and that is not, currently, a mass market option.
Next GH will probably be the GH5 and probably not for about 2 years from now. There is no reason for Panasonic to "dumb down" the interface on their flagship camera and I don't suppose they will.
A couple of other things - the GH3 does have the ability to flag images with the GPS coordinates, making use of your smartphone's GPS to do this. I don't know why they did it this way, but it seems like a viable solution for those who need it.
Global shutter is currently only available in very expensive cinema cameras. I think Panasonic are doing research on it with a view to including this in a future CE product. It is not without issues, for example, noise is harder to control on a sensor with global shutter, with current technology.
