How to get the best AF on D7000

I think there is a lot of confusion about how to use the AF on Nikon D-7000.

Here is my recipe:

1) Set the camera to AF-C

That is done by pressing the button on the left side low in front of the camera. (Underneath the lense release button). The switch lever there of course should be set to AF. NOT to M!!! (NB. Very easy to unintentionally turn to wrong position.)

When pressing the button, you turn the wheel on the back of the upper right side of the camera till you reach AF-C shown in the top LCD.

2)

When you still press the same button, you turn the FRONT wheel on the upper right side till you only see ONE spot.

Using one spot help you to get the focus placed where you want.

3)

Then you set the AF to center, this you see in the middle in the viewer. Lock it there.

4) Half press the release button to have the dynamic focusing working.

5) Optional.

Either a) Freeze the focus with the AF button, then press the release button and take the picture.

b) Or just take the picture if the subject is moving towards you.
