original 5d (12.8MP) vs 1d Mark II

What's the difference between the two cameras and how do they preform In low Light High ISO situations. I'm looking to upgrade my Canon 30d to one of these bodies. I only have $600 USD and saw them for a good deal on Ebay and Amazon is it worth it. I shoot event and portrait photography. I rarely if at all shoot fast action sports.
