Of all the glass I had, the "infamous" 43mm - 86mm Nikkor is great at capturing candids and portraits. Here is one I took with it.  ISO 320 hand held 1/60 at f/11 43mm

Not sure what the onboard flash was set at.  One tip on children (I learned when my kids were that age and watching Mr. Rodgers: get on their eye level) although it getting harder to get up vertically.
