Is it just a hobby or do you wannt a high end pro monitor?

Definitely ips which gives better viewing angles and color renditions.

CCFL gives better white's.

at those prices they are real bargain.invest 200$ in a monitor calibratior and you are ready to go.

there is a Viewsonic 2770 LED also, which is better and costlier.

or you can check out the NEC PA series or Eizo
