E-PM1 and 14-42 II will I get a good copy of this lens?

I've come "this close" to getting a refurb Olympus E-PM1 with the 14-42 II. Everything I've read about the camera has been positive. Reason I haven't? I'd like to know if that lens is sharp, sharp enough that it isn't a limiting factor as to how good the IQ from the Oly would be.
I made the mistake of getting a NEX 3 when they first came out and, no matter how competent the NEX might have been as a camera, the 18-55mm and 16mm were so soft as to be unusable (IMHO. others' copies seemed to be OK but mine were horrible).
Is the QC on the 14-42 II consistent enough that I'll get a good copy? I know there's always "better" lenses out there but, hey, I'm happy with a Nikon 18-55 VR I have as a backup to my Nikon DSLRs. If I knew the Oly was that good I'd have no qualms.
