These discussions always make me laugh...mention shooting film and all these poeple come out the woodwork to tell us how digital is too easy, film took much more skill, most people on here today wouldn't have been capable of taking an in-focus, sharp, properly exposed pic 30 years ago etc etc.

The fact is that most people are pretty smart and quickly adapt to whatever equipment is available to them. If that means they needed to learn how to work with primitive exposure meters, one ISO setting per roll, manual focus etc, then they'll figure it out. The time/effort that people spent on their camera skills in the past is now redirected to learning other things like photoshop, LR etc which I do not think are any less complicated.

Having said all that, as a film "virgin" who's only really shot digital, I actually bought an old Olympus OM on Ebay this week and can now test this theory in practice!
