To start with my comment, I like to mention that I saw this video yesterday, and was totally inspired.

Now here is my thoughts why I am not doing any video (even though I enjoy watching good ones and know some basis of doing video myself):

1) a good video needs constant different angle, often this proved to be impossible for single person. Imagine you cover an event (music band, school play, etc.), you need to have multiple cameras covering various angles, in order to assemble them in post production. With sigle person you just can't do that.

2) unless you do time laps stuff, anything involve motion require steady support and smooth gliding rail. If you want interesting angle often you need overhead crane with remote capability. In order to operate these while you shooting the footage you need assistant.

3) sound track, where is it? If you run any music do you need to buy the rights? or get those royalty free pieces? This is a big concern if you intend to publish your video to places like vimeo or youtube.

4) post production is heavy workload. You will spend hours day weeks to get things right, not to mention the hardware demand.

So all in all, I just find doing "proper" video is simply not realistic. For casual stuff yeah everyone got their phone cameras. The only advantage for DSLR(SLT) over phone is better low light, or longer zoom lens since phone camera can cover reasonably wide angle.
