Battery drain while connected to USB port?

I think I asked this before when I had my D800, but for some odd reason it seems that the battery drains prematurely, and gets a little warm the longer I have it hooked up to the USB port of my PC.  This is now with my D800E.  As I said, I’ve noticed this before when I had my D800.

Anyway I was using Reiken’s FoCal yesterday and my battery went from 60 to 20 within an hour.  And even when doing transfers from camera to ViewNX, the camera gets warm and the battery drains.

Anyone else notice or experience this?
