Blasphemy Alert : What difference would Leica make for me??

To be honest I thought the whole Leica mystique was the most overrated load of BS ever....and then I bought a used M8 with some Leica/Zeiss glass. Honestly the image quality at base ISO is just amazing, but truth be told you can get great image quality with any camera.

The biggest thing for me (besides the quality/size of M glass) was the quality of the gear. I realize this sounds silly but the gear was just more enjoyable to use because of the fine craftsmanship. I compare it to a fine watch....some people like a Timex, it keeps perfect time for $40. Others like an Omega, or a Rolex, or say a Panerai.....which may cost you $7k and keep worse time than the Timex. At the end of the day there just isn't anything enjoyable about a Timex.

For me, the intangible with Leica was just enjoying using the camera...which meant I shot more...and got more pictures:) With that said, I eventually sold the M8 to buy a Fuji XPro1.
