Really, what more do you need for macro of insects?

The point is that some of have a dire need to spend the kids' inheritance, and I'm working steadily on that with cameras/lenses and garden railway stuff.

The old 50mm are OK at a pinch but if serious then a proper macro lens is optimised for closeup and macro distances plus usually has flat field so works better when you need to do flat copy work. The bonus of course with a proper M4/3 macro is that the 60mm is a decent lens that can also be used for a longish portrait lens or general scenery tele and AF does help a lot to make life easier for that.

Plus the fact it appears that he already has the 4/3 35mm macro which is a superb quality lens yielding more depth of field than the 60mm but at really annoyingly close working distance when at 1:1. If the insects don't appear to mind having the lens too close then all is well.

But why the heck am I justifying decisions to you, when I should be just ignoring you like many others do?

Regards...... Guy
